The national site The Timeline of the Culture of the Republic of Serbia and Serbs Outside Serbia features the most notable figures, events, and cultural objects of the Serbian culture and people, intending to show to both local and foreign internet users the continuity, range, and significance of Serbian culture and the culture of the Republic of Serbia, as well as to encourage further research and dialogue about them.
This website currently features over 1700 individual entries relevant to the culture of the Republic of Serbia and Serbs outside Serbia. The entries are illustrated with photos and videos, and it is possible to search for them, using keywords, categories, and tags.
There is an option to suggest new entries or to add more information to the old ones, making the website interactive, and encouraging the presentation and examination of the culture of our country and people. So far, more than a hundred texts, photos, films, virtual exhibitions, and other digital content have been sent, by cultural and tourism institutions and organizations, and individuals that wish to make a creative contribution to the Timeline of Culture. To encourage citizens to take part in the improvement of the Timeline of Culture, in 2020 the Center formed the Commission for best digital content, and the award has thus far been given to the film Cenotaph in Jasenovo (Priest Risto’s Tomb in Jasenovo) by Miomir Filipović. A large part of the content was translated to the English language, and there are plans for translations to other languages, as well as for increasing the number of entries.
