An interesting cultural event for teenagers called “FOLLOW CULTURE” was held in the packed tribune hall of the Cultural Institution “Parobrod”, organized by the Institute for cultural development research (Zaprokul), CI “Parobrod” and elementary school “King Peter the First ” from Belgrade.
This is part of a campaign within a research conducted by the Institute for cultural development research in Primary Schools, Urban and Rural Settlements, on a representative national sample of about 5,000 children that will run throughout next year.
Director of Zaprokul, Marko Krstić, pointed out on this occasion: “that the data show that cultural institutions in Serbia often organize programs for children and teenagers, but do not consult with them when creating cultural programs. With this program, we want to draw attention to the importance of cooperation between cultural institutions and schools, with a special emphasis on interactive and entertaining content that would be suggested by children. ”
Director of “Parobrod”, Marija Pavlović, said: “We older people, and especially those who work in culture, often think that young people are not interested in culture. “With this program, we want to hear what intrigues young people in culture, how they want to participate in culture and follow the programs, because they are our audience, but also future creators in culture.”
The director of the elementary school “King Peter the First” from Belgrade, Mladen Stevanović, pointed out: “We must not neglect that schools, in addition to their educational and upbringing role, also have a cultural role.” If we do not teach children to love and follow culture, we can face the violation of their cultural identity. ”
The program ended with a quiz on cultural knowledge led in a fun way by our famous young actor Uroš Jovčić and increasingly popular influencer Jenny Martin, with the famous the choir of the “King Peter the First” school and teenage actors from the renowned acting school “Snezana and Nenad Nenadovic”.
