We would like to invite you to the online presentation of the research and book “The Cultural Participation of the Citizens of Serbia” that will be streamed on the Facebook page of the Center for Study in Cultural Development on Tuesday, December 22, 2020.
The participants will be:
- Branimir Stojković, professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences
- Vladislav Šćepanović, painter, professor at the Faculty of Applied Arts, and chairman of the managing board of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade
- Svetislav Goncić, actor, director of the cultural center “Vuk Stefanović Karadžić” and chairman of the managing board of the National Theater in Belgrade
- Slobodan Mrđa and Marijana Milankov, researchers at the Center for Study in Cultural Development
The discussion will be moderated by Vuk Vukićević, the Center’s director
The presentation will lay out research findings on the cultural interest and habits of the citizens of Serbia: what they do in their free time, how much they read, engage in art as a hobby, use digital media in culture, how they inform themselves about cultural content, how often they attend cultural events, what is the share of the cultural audience in the total population; and observations about changes in cultural participation from the beginning of the 21st century to this day. The methods used in this research and well as theoretical presumptions will also be laid out.
