The panel JESUS CHRIST ON FILM, of the now famous series CHRISTIANITY AND FILM, was held at the Institute (Zaprokul) in front of an audience that closely followed the words of Vladan Tatalović, professor at the Orthodox Theological Faculty in Belgrade, and Vladimir Kolarić, theoretician of culture and art, organizer research in Zaprokul.
Tatalović pointed out that “presenting the image of Jesus Christ has always been a great challenge for artists, considering the possibility and ways of artistic mediation of his divine and human personality.” With inserts from numerous world films that portrayed Jesus Christ on film in different ways, Tatalović analyzed the most impressive scenes with great care, answering numerous questions from the audience.
Moderator Vladimir Kolarić concluded at the very end that the image of Jesus Christ is an inexhaustible theme that has achieved and is achieving numerous direct, indirect and parabolic visualizations on film.
The next forum will be held on December 22 at 7 pm in the “Svetozar Marković” University Library.
