Today, in the Gallery of the Institute for Cultural Development Research , a promotion of the book by the group of authors THE STORY OF ANDRIC – anti-colonial conversations published by the Institute was held, as the first title from the new edition “Cultural Code”.
The gathered audience was greeted by the director of the Institute Marko Krstić and said that “the Institute continues to expand its publishing activities and that the book about our Nobel Prize winner symbolically determines what is the basic idea of the” Cultural Code “edition. is fundamental, decisive and lasting in Serbian culture and literature. ”
The editor of the edition and the magazine “Kultura”, Sladjana Ilic, spoke about the texts of the authors who in an innovative way re-examine Andric’s poetic anti-colonial heritage, opposing the negative ideologisation of Serbian culture that has taken hold.
Famous Serbian writers Vladimir Pištalo and Muharem Bazdulj also spoke very inspiringly and with inspiration at the promotion.
Pištalo said that “the anti-colonial struggle itself was a constant of Andrić’s entire activities and that he was convinced that man should be his own center, and not someone else’s periphery”.
Speaking about Andrić’s work and work, Muharem Bazdulj concluded that the reception of his work, but also his present vitality and liveliness, stem from the fact that new historical circumstances repeat the historical dilemmas that our Nobel Prize winner wrote about. “Andrić’s anti-colonialism is clearly and unequivocally emphasized through his literary work.”
The book STORIES ABOUT ANDRIĆ – anti-colonial conversations provides new readings of “Andrić’s topics” from the pens of our most important contemporary writers, literary critics and theorists. The focus is on Andrić’s anti-colonial and poetic experience of the world, which was motivated by resistance to colonialism and any imposition of ideas and values that would be contrary to his own culture.
After the promotion, the participants and the audience continued the conversation and cocktail in a pleasant atmosphere.
