Serbia is the first in the region to apply the most modern UNESCO methods of research

Our country is the first in the region to start implementing the “UNESCO Culture 2030” methodology of cultural indicators, which means that we will be the first to implement the most modern UNESCO methods of researching sustainable development in culture. The city of Leskovac was elected the representative of Serbia, in which this program will first be implemented, both because of the diversity and richness of cultural contents, and because of the exceptional potential for cultural development.

As an introduction to this important project at theInstitute for cultural development research in Belgrade, the first workshop on the application of these research principles was held on November 15, adopted by UNESCO in 2015, as the most important specialized organization of the United Nations for education, science and culture. 195 member countries.

The workshop in Belgrade was attended by representatives of the UNESCO Antenna Office from Sarajevo, as well as representatives of the working group for the implementation of this methodology from the RS Ministry of Culture and Information, Ministry of Finance, Leskovac City Administration, National Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO, Republic Bureau of Statistics and Bureau for the protection of cultural monuments, and the audience was addressed by Marko Krstić, Acting Director of the Institute, Stanko Blagojevic, Assistant Minister of Culture and Information for International Relations and European Integration, and Sinisa Sesum, Head of the UNESCO Office in Sarajevo.
