THE AUDIENCE OF ZAPROKUL MEET THE NEW HOPES OF SERBIAN PROSE

Another in a series of extremely successful and well-attended public prose readings was held at the Institute (Zaprokul), where the audience got to know the new hopes of the Serbian prose scene, as part of the ČIP2 event – Read I Prose
The guests of the new ČIP2, in the new season, were talented young novelists: Miloš K. Ilić and Miloš Živković, and the public reading was moderated by Marko Avramović, literary critic, member of the Andrić Award jury.
Ilić introduced himself to the gathered audience with his inspirational stories from the story books Stories of Beer (2008), Tired as Dogs (2017) and an excerpt from the novel Children of Nedođina (2022). The young writer emphasized the value of such public readings, and described his developmental path, which in some form goes through all new, young authors who want to be recognized by the cultural public.
Živković read an excerpt from the highly acclaimed novel Nightmare (2021), which was shortlisted for the NIN award. The writer thanked Zaprokul for the initiative thanks to which the audience finally has the opportunity to get to know young prose writers.
“Zaprokul has become an important meeting place for young writers”, concluded Avramović at the very end, “which will certainly contribute to the greater presence of young writers in the wider public”.

We will schedule the next CHIP 2 for you on December 23.
