The project of the European Union “Danube’s Archaeological eLandscapes” was officially launched at the City Museum of Vršac, in the Konkordija Building. This project is co-financed by the Danube Transnational Programme (http://www.interreg-danube.eu/), better known as Interreg, which promotes economic, social, and territorial cohesion in the Danube Region. The project’s goal is to make archeological heritage, especially the archeological heritage of Podunavlje, regionally, nationally, and internationally more visible and appealing, using the most recent high-tech digital technology.
The project, which costs more than 2 million euros, is carried out by 23 partner organizations from 10 countries, while the project coordinator is Universalmuseum Joanneum GmbH from Graz, Austria. The partners from Serbia are the City Museum of Vršac and the Center for Study in Cultural Development.
Due to the pandemic, the official launch was carried out via a video link. The audience was addressed by partners in the project implementation, among them the two mentioned institutions from Serbia.
