The ceremonial awarding of the prestigious literary prize “Novica Tadić” for young poets was held today in the Gallery of the Institute for cultural development research. We founded this literary award, named after the great Serbian poet Novica Tadić, with the intention of affirming new voices in Serbian poetry, which makes it unique in our culture.
The award ceremony was opened by the Acting Director of the Institute Marko Krstić, pointing out that “this literary award is a strong ticket to the Serbian poetry scene, and at the same time a clear message of support that we send to young artists.”
The award for 2021 to young and promising poets: Velimir Knežević, author of the collection “Hearing Aid”, Tijana Sladoje, author of the collection “Oderotine” and Jelena Kalajdžija, author of the collection “Dirty Snowman on a Hot Hood” was presented by Assistant Minister for Contemporary Art Radović.
Actress Vjera Mujović read the verses of the winners, and the members of the jury spoke about the winners: Mirko Demić, Žarko Milenković and Vesna Trijić. In the presence of famous people from literary life, the award was traditionally supported by Mrs. Zorica Tadić, the wife of the deceased poet, in whose part the award is given.
